Vidic Is Worried Already - But For No Reason

Nemanja Vidic admitted that he's feeling the pressure in the Premier League where United did not really make a flying start.

Though in terms of points lost we are only two behind main rivals Chelsea and five behind early pacesetters Liverpool - who'll surely fall away - he's already talking about losing the title.

'We didn't start well in the first few games and when you don't have a good start you worry about what might happen,' Vidic told the Mirror.

'You begin to think, 'If we lose one more game we could be out of the Premier League'.

'It's something at the back of your mind and you feel the pressure. When you have that you get worried about what you might do in a game.'

Dear oh dear, Vida. What's up with you? Where's your confidence? Thing is, at Goodison Park he looked like a man bereft of belief in himself which is a new thing with him. I don't know when he looked so shaky last time.

But really, are we so much behind now that a defeat would rule us out of the title race? Rubbish. He should not even contemplate such things, no player should allow these kind of doubts to creep into their mind in my opinion.

He's worried already - but his reasons don't add up. Could it be the pressure of two consecutive titles? Could it be what many call 'battle fatigue'? I hope not.

These are normal emotions Vida seems to be going through. I have had the same thoughts earlier in the season. But we always bounce back and I hope when we do, it won't be too late!

Can I just say, yes, Vidic did look short on confidence against Everton (did he loan some to Rio - he seemed too sure of himself: he HAS been brilliant for us in recent years, so his school boy errors are forgiveable, but they contributed to us dropping two points, and almost cost us all three). But, on the Vida subject, if you read the article on the Man Utd website, it says that Vidic felt like this after the FIRST FEW games: not recently; before United started firing, when we drew to Newcastle and Chelsea, and lost to Liverpool. He actually says that now we're playing really well :) well, apart from second half Saturday.

On Liverpool v Chelsea, have you EVER been so glad to see Liverpool win???? Yes, a draw would have been best, but if someone had to win, it would be Liverpool all the way. We will have to wait and see how Chelsea react to this devastating blow (and it is) because they could fall away from here on in. Liverpool should be easier to haul in, and I think of the two, barring the possibility of a draw, this was the result Fergie wanted.
