Tevez Case - Cling On To The Official Line, Folks

Tevez Case - Cling On To The Official Line, Folks

Carlos Tevez will be signed on a permanent deal before the end of the season - that's what the club tells us and why shouldn't we believe it?

Tevez has quickly won over pundits after they all predicted he would not work be able to play well with Rooney. Now they fear for his future as Berbatov is seemingly considered being above him in the pecking order.

It's only October though so I really see no reason to worry. Tevez was on the bench for a few games after playing throughout the entire last season - big deal. He'll get games soon enough, end of story.

The other story, about his permanent transfer is a more difficult one. Tevez's two-year loan deal comes to an end at the end of this season but United have the option to turn it permanent any time. What they need to do is stumping up the cash and agree with the player.

The player - Carlos Tevez - stated several times that he would sign a contract the moment it was put before him. Therefore it's difficult to imagine that there is wrangling over his wages...

There are murmurs of discontent around Tevez but I choose to believe the club that we will sign him in time. First, because what else could I do? Second, because the end of the year is still more than two months away so there's plenty of time to seal that contract.

The News of the World's fresh and very pathetic rumour should not be a concern for United fans: according to the paper, Fergie would sign this Douglas Costa chap who is an 18-year-old Brazilian and the fee would be at least Ł20m and this would mean we couldn't afford Tevez as well.

So, Fergie will sign an unproven Brazilian teenager for a crazy sum instead of keeping a proven world-class attacker who is still only 24? Yeah, likely story.
