Carrick Out For Six Weeks!

The news that Michael Carrick will be out for four to six weeks is sure to rock Old Trafford. Contrary to popular belief, Carrick provides the heartbeat to our side, and our attacking play will certainly suffer in his absence.

Speaking to the assembled media, Sir Alex broke the news we all feared...

'Michael's injury hasn't turned out well for us. He`ll be out for four to six weeks, which isn't good news.'

In his absence, Hargreaves may be forced to return to action prematurely, something I am not too keen on. Alternatively, Fletcher or the hugely promising young Brazilian Rodrigo Possebon could line up alongside Anderson.

Though anti-Carrick lobbyists` such as Naoise will be quick to question Carrick`s ability and affect on our team, no doubt United fans will be sad to hear the news.

In other injury-related news, new signing Dimitar Berbatov looks set to miss out on the Villarreal match with a knee injury picked up on his debut, whilst Paul Scholes is suspended following a comedy moment against Zenit.

On a positive note, Ronaldo looks set to make the bench, whilst forgotten new striker, Manucho, has overcome a foot injury and could be in the squad for Wednesday's game.
