Kuszczak, The Quiet Back-Up

Kuszczak, The Quiet Back-Up

You don't really hear much about Tomasz Kuszczak, do you? Of course why should we talk at any great length about the second choice goalkeeper?

Well, now the chance to discuss him has been presented to us as he has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2012.

'For the club to offer me an extension when I still have two years left shows the trust and support that I have from the club and Sir Alex Ferguson,' said Kuszczak.

'I am so happy as I have had a great time so far but there is still so much to prove and I want to continue working hard to ensure my position within this great team.'

Well, good for you Tomasz. Fergie trusts you, therefore so do I. And Edwin's shaky performance at Liverpool suggests the time when Kuszczak will have fight for the number one shirt with Foster may not be too far away.
