Will Berbatov Play At Anfield?

Dimitar Berbatov has played brilliantly for Bulgaria recently. The new United signing is a tad out of club football as he's been left out of Spurs' opening three games but that in itself should not mean he's behind in fitness.

However, rumours say that he's not up to 'United standard' in terms of fitness and he'll follow a rigorous training schedule from the moment he sets foot in Carrington as he hasn't joined the squad yet because of international duty.

I have to say it again: playing for Bulgaria Berbatov looks as sublime as ever and apparently there is no problem with his physical state. But it could be true that the pace of Premier League football might be too much for at the moment.

But with Ronaldo out, Nani and Rooney in bad form, it is quite important that Berbatov makes his debut at Liverpool. To cut it short: if he's fit enough to play for Bulgaria then we can make a gamble on him - especially as he's brilliant, according to Jonny Evans (well, not just him but he spoke out this time)

'I could not wait for half-time to come as Berbatov was outstanding. He is someone who can make a difference to a game,' said Evans, recalling his White Hart Lane experience that he had had when he had been playing for Sunderland on loan.

'Berbatov has a great touch for a big man and is a very good player. I am just glad he is now at United. On the other hand I know I will have to be at my best in training.'

I agree with him being on the bench, but what an opportunity for him so early on. Tevez endeared himself to United fans with the goal that won us the game at Anfield last season - here's too Berbatov doing the same!

If you don't care, WHY RESPOND??? THIS IS SO STUPID! Its not like this article was written on Vital Chelsea or Spurs to wind you up! Back to the topic, he will play but whether he will start or not is still up for debate

And if he is rotated, it doesn't matter. Imagine having two brilliant £30 million strikers and then one to come off the bench! (Whoever you have starting). This give us a long-needed variety when things aren't going so well.

We are posting because we loved him, first season, second season, was like seeing you kid go through puberty. Wait till your 1 nill down with 15 mins to go and he is nowhere, head bowed, not tracking anyone.. the exact opposite of rooney..and moaning at every player who dares to not pass to him or when the pass is 2ft away from where he thought it should be. Cantona he is not..i liked cantona and his passion of the team/shirt. I await the first article on here about moaning suly berba. It will happen.

He better play or he'll start sulking and thinking no one loves him coz they won't pass him the ball! The he'll ask for his 'dream move' to Real Madrid - or probably Man City!!! Lol. Other than that who gives a monkeys! Not that we're bitter lol

if he doesnt start the game SAF is an idiot. I dont think he'll sulk like he did at spurs, because he'll be winning the majority of games unlike what he did with us unfortunately.

His fitness is not a problem, his attitude is, but I am 100% certain his attitude will have been miraculously cured by the move to United. He will be awesome against Liverpool and in every game this season, he will look slow but the touches of genius will win you the league. For me the issue is whether Rooney will adapt to life on the bench because I cannot see who else will be dropped to accomodate Berbatov, Tevez is much better than Rooney IMO

Lol illtight69, but it's time to play Rooney in his proper position for once. After all the hard work he puts in for us, it's about time we repaid him by giving him a chance to play in his favoured position.

I guess you don't watch United play, because if you do you would know that he likes defending. jk. i agree man utd champions. i say play berbatov with rooney behind him and try tevez on the right and nani on the left (even though i really dont like how inconsistent and unintelligent he can be) over giggs.
