Is Berbatov's Position Untenable?

Juande Ramos has left Dimitar Berbatov out of his squad for the visit of Sunderland because United's target is not focused enough.

This is baffling now. Fergie has revealed he's pessimistic about our chances of signing Berbatov; yet the striker's attitude is deemed to be unsatisfactory by his manager which is usually a sign of an impending transfer.

Fergie could be playing games, Ramos could be playing games... but it looks like that we are unable to struck a deal with Spurs yet Berbatov's position at his club is starting to become untenable.

Will they keep him there just because they refuse to lower their demands while United refuse to up their offer? We might never know, we might learn it soon. But, as I have said before, we need Berbatov. We should conclude this saga as soon as possible.

Im confused.

Yes, the news is he's out of the squad, and on his way to United. But he could also be sold to another club. My guess is he'll be a United player within the next few days. (Hope that's not being too optimistic).

I do wonder with Fergie SAYING he's less and less optimistic, whether things have been going on behind the scenes, and this is nailed on (hopefully). Doesn't look like Berbatov is staying at Spurs anyway...
Man utd champions
Imagine Tottenham with just one principal striker, Darren Bent, on their books. now THAT would be untenable. I think Berbatov will be only allowed to leave if and when Spurs buy at least another striker before the window closes.
hiano
Maybe, hiano, but like Ronaldo for us, if Berbatov does stay with you, you can hardly expect him to be anything like fully comitted to Spurs. Don't make the same mistake I worry we have - grab the money and run!

^air of resignation seems liek to me....hopefully the deal will be completed shortly

Yeah yeah Spurs look at u without Berba u will be relegated. So keep him or tell him to terminate his contract.LOL just like Calderon.Uyep I know u will be amazed but MANU r in more need of Berba than our need of Robinho.lol
Saimon_blues
I am doubting whether we will get him. We need to up our offer. With flops like Veron whats a extra few million for a proven quality player?
rooneyisgod
it simple , Pay up , or Shut up . but some of us at spurs are worried now
No1Yido
Relegated ? alryt den m8 . we will c
No1Yido
its not simple any more. you may have to accept a lower price....or risk further points loss.
united4life
it's like Paul Ince all over again :-)
merlin
i hate these mind games.... personally im very pesimistic. He;d be a man u player if we could get him. I mean we can get him if we want to. its just another 5 mill extra.
alexpant
its true. Spurs either get really stubborn and dont sell, which will only lead to an unhappy player that wont play, more points lost, and of course money loss for paying a player that sits nice and warm on the team bench.
alexpant
or sell the player, get 25m and bring in a couple of quality players. If spurs dont sell berba, we both lose, but i think it will cost them more. i dont think they can endure another season without european action.theres too much money at stake
alexpant
I hope you are all still smiling when he has his dream of playing in Spain
BringBackHoddle
Er Alexpant, we've had European Football for 4 years now, where's this enduring we've had to endure. LOL. Oh yeah you probably don't realise there's a mickey mouse tournament underneath the CL that us lesser mortals have to aspire to. (Keep it quiet but my Bro is a big ManU fan and I was bouncing around too when you beat the Chelsea boys, what a great day that was eh - still hate what you've done to Berbatov though, you could at least have offered us Carrick back, we've got a nice little spot all ready for him ...)
BringBackHoddle
Good on you, BringBackHoddle. Hopefully you'll be bounding around some more come the end of the season (!). But... what happened to Barcelona? I can't see Berbatov going to Spain when no one seems to have shown any further interest??
