MANCHESTER UTD V NEWCASTLE

The second of Sky's live matches on Sunday is from Old Trafford and to be honest, Newcastle may as well not bother turning up. The lack of summer signings has left Kevin Keegan with a threadbare squad even before the season starts and the prospect of going to United without Michael Owen leaves the Geordies looking helpless.

A Manchester United side missing both Rooney and Ronaldo won't pose the same threat as usual but they still have enough to comfortably see off Newcastle. The odds are designed to be prohibitve but there is only one possible outcome here so back the Red Devils to start with a victory.

odds my ass. u were lucky to get that cheap equaliser. but 1-1 was fair. eat ur words u muppets. howay the ladsss
Toon4LiFe
Toon4life, be fair. I agree with you that 1-1 was probably fair, but a "cheap" equaliser. After all, wasn't it a bit chancy Given saving with his forehead??? And to be honest, your goal had a lot to do with pooor marking by United. No sour grapes - you deserved your point, but so did we.

Remember, Taylor was off getting treatment when your fortunate equalizer arrived, meaning you've not scored in open play against a full team in English competition this season. Is it Toons fault that your crap can't mark well at corners? Martins had two free headers from corners, it's not his fault your defence is crap.
bseymour
Yeah, our defence is REALLY REALLY bad, we conceded all of 22 goals in the league last season. Funny how everyone else conceded more. Oh, and should I just recall to mind the 11 goals we scored against you last season? That's half of the total goals we conceded ALL season.
