Berbatov In Manchester For Medical... Maybe

The papers practically trip over their legs in a hasty attempt to contradict each other in the Berbatov-saga. They are rather successful I must say.

I had said that I was highly doubtful that Berbatov would really be a United player by the end of the weekend and the clubs proved me right in spectacular fashion by apparently still unable to agree a fee for the 27-year-old.

Now, the Times says the move is on ice right now as Levy does not lower his demand from Ł32M to the Ł28M United offer. However, the Daily Mail reports that Berbatov is in Manchester to complete his medical which of course would mean that a fee had been agreed.

What's the truth I don't know but with only a little more than an hour to go until the registration deadline for the weekend's Premiership opener against Newcastle it is very unlikely that Berbatov will feature against the Magpies.

Breaking news! I saw Berbatov in my local having a pint with Dong! If they don't get one more round in he may just make the deadline!

I don't think berbatov is that close to signing, but I feel he'll be a Untied player sooner rather than later (hopefully anyway!)

Dong's egging Berba on, looks like shorts next, don't think this is going to be settled tonight...
Tosswink
A consummate professional like Dong having a pint 48hrs before a game, impossible
Phartman87
It's ok, I don't think he is planning to hit double figures...
Tosswink
It's all speculation. Its a poor attempt by the press to just get some attention and readers!

Actually, and factually he trained with the team this afternoon, so I'm afraid the 'news' is just total and utter BS! Apparently, he is travelling with the team now as I type.
Spursex
Aye and theres pics of him training with Spurs today on their site :( So its all BS. Hopefully the Huntelaar deals on! I'd love to see this guy here after watching him so many times.
Shutcho
Dongs probably drowing his sorrows cause his squad number has been taken from him

Are you sure Dong's still around??? He's been at United for something like four years, and yet has done next to nothing in terms of playing...

Berbatov is still at Spurs, but he doesn't look happy and keeps saying he wants to come. But I get the impression that unless Tottenham change their minds, Fergie has moved on. What happened to the surprise Fergie said we'd be getting "in the next few days" nearly a week ago??? Not signing anyone? Not much of a surprise there, Sir Alex...
