Alot has been written about Ronaldo this summmer. Too much in my opinion.

That is why I have taken the somewhat lazy stance to simply publish the latest quotes from Ronaldo in which he admits responsibility for the events of the summer, whilst also pledging his future to United...for next season at least.

Here are the key quotes that will be featured in tommorow's Publico:

'I will remain with Manchester United for at least another year...Before rumours emerge saying that I will play against my will, I want to make this clear - whoever says or writes that is lying. I will play for Manchester with all my heart and soul. I will fight and honour that shirt with the same commitment and dedication as always...I was responsible for all this controversy. I was the one who publicly expressed my desire to go to Real Madrid. I ended up being, even involuntarily, responsible for the poor relationship between the two clubs...I knew Real Madrid were interested in signing me and that they had allegedly made a very high offer to Manchester United. My desire was, for some time, that Manchester had accepted my transfer to Madrid. Saying otherwise would be to trick people and my own consciousness.'

Hmmmm...interesting; it will take a lot more to win me over, im not sure about other Reds. Feel free to discuss below.

Irrespective of his comments on his so-called new-found commitment; his actions are entirely responsible for the unrest and angst he has created with team mates and ManU's fans. His disruption to your pre-season planning have been there for all to see. Simply to let that be water under the bridge because he pledges to honour another year of his contract is in my book untenable. Even now, this so called 'commitment' is time-limited and is a insult to your club, frankly if I were a Man U fan I would be disgusted with his entirely unnecessary public posturing and give him the hard time that he unquestionably deserves for his very shabby conduct. If there is any good that comes from all this is that the chances are that old Rudolph the Red-nose, will now give up his alleged unethical tapping up and pursuit of Berbatov and get a dose of his own medicine from us!

Well on the upside at least we don't have to put up with this story every day any more. On the downside Ronaldo to Madrid 2 - The Sequal is already being lined up for next year I'm sure.

How people can hate him for wanting to play for Madrid, a club hes wanted to play for since he was 6, is beyond me. Its his life not yours

lol supergoon. The guys so far up his own arse its untrue, id be officially offended if i was a Utd fan. Youre the european champions anyone who doesnt want to play for you should be sold in my opinion.

Well its good to hear he will give 100% still, thats all we can hope for he hasnt moped and whinned when we didnt sell him because he doesnt really mind being here at OT. i REALLY hope he doesnt get booed because he doesnt deserve it, no matter what he says he has been a huge part of our success in the last 2 years...he helped us become the best in england again

Once he scores a couple of goals, all will be forgotten. Just like after the World Cup. It made sense to sell him this summer though, come January it'll all rear it's ugly head again. The ultra stubborn red nosed one has just completed an exercise in face saving. You've now got a unhappy player in the team who, like Berbatov, will probably sulk his way to the next transfer window.
