Calderon's Cheek Is Breathtaking - See It, Levy?

It seems that Calderon has no shame. Real Madrid's president, after months of obviously desperate efforts to land Ronaldo, has got the cheek to claim they are just spectators.

It's not the first time he says that it's nothing to do with Real Madrid, it's something between the player and Manchester United.

'Madrid are just spectators in this soap opera,' Calderon said.

'At the moment Manchester United and the player are in an argument and Madrid are waiting and we can't do any more for the time being.'

It's like saying the scriptwriter has nothing to do with how the movie unfolds. It was of course Real Madrid who engineered everything that happened, they ordered Marca and AS to lead the pursuit of Ronaldo and they contacted Ronaldo's agent.

AS now claims that Ronaldo will demand to move to Real and will tell the club that it's non-negotiable. Even our dear Portuguese would not have the nerve and the ego to do such a thing so I'm not worried that it's true.

It would be worth showing Calderon's comments to Daniel Levy: he would see what IS hypocrisy, what IS tapping up. Fergie has not made a single comment in public about Dimitar Berbatov - not a single one, for the Swedish fansite revealed their mistake. This maddening smugness and arrogance is what sets Real Madrid apart - they are the most despicable club ever.

Conspiracy theories aside, sell Ronaldo. Better off without that mug.

Tapping up isn't putting things through the media. Tapping up is like you said contacting the agent and/or player directly without the permission of the club which is what your accused of. So your Levy point is a little wide of the mark.

Can i just make a few points. Ive always had a thing for man utd it started when you used to beat arsenal everyyear sinse 99 and continued up to your excellent championsleague victory. But this anti spurs vile you have been coming out with by not only members of this site but the editor with his insulting polls mocking our club is really classless. Levy may be right and may be wrong and sure you have the right to criticise but what have we really done that offends you? Honestly some of the members on here make certain Chelsea fans look classy. Fergie has been playing dirty tricks for years and its part and parcel of the modern game and i for one accept it. So whats wrong with Levy demanding a massive transfer fee or playing ball with you guys? Im sure Berba will go for a fee around 30million whos terrible workrate will really show up to be terrible playing along side rooney and tevez. So honestly calm down lads. They way you guys feel about Ronaldo is the same we now feel over berba, if he doesnt want to play for us, ***** him. Good luck next season lads

To be honest I try and and avoid the bile, I've nothing against Spurs meself. Unfortunately in the modern game everybody tries to get as close to the line as they can without crossing it. I've worked as a journalist and know the method of thinking that soon becomes second nature, it's frustrating but nothing we can directly influence.

Do any of you seriously believe for a second that Man Utd don't tap up players?

if we tapped up berbatov there would have been action taken against us by now seeing as spurs try claim they have proof.

Not really. Fact is it's not in anyone's interest to start taking action, even though there might be an angle in talking it up in the papers, because all the top teams are at it routinely. It's well known Man Utd do it and have done for years, and I'm sure Spurs do too.

If I'm not mistaken Spurs have submitted proof to the FA of both Liverpool and United tapping up Berbs and Keane respectively, the file is with the FA now. I don't think they have withdrawn the charge against United, and the last I heard was they had more evidence than just that Swedish newspaper interview. Either way I don't see much coming of this, as monkeyg said almost everyone does it so they wouldn't want to draw too much of an eye on the situation, just as I don't expect Blatter to do sweet phak all about Madrid and Ronaldo which from what I know of both incidents is much worse, and spineless on the part of Calderon the way he has gone on and on and on about it. "We are only spectators", give me a goddamn break you ass, you started it, have persisted at it and won't stop until you get what you want. Take him already, I've suffered through having to cheer on the selfish little**** for 4 years now, I just hope we meet them in the CL and the boys can give him a little what-for, maybe draw him into doing something rash like he did to Rooney at the WC. Now I'm just getting angry thinking about it...get it over with already!

hehe:D blatter an idiot:D i like that If CR7 stays we got the best player in the world on our side. If he leaves we bring in 3 new players of top class level. Either way Man U will still be the strongest:D But when is a striker coming...?

Blatter would make the goals twice the size to make the game 'more interesting' if he could. Turdhead!

If Ronaldo moves in Real he will make suicide on his career like world star. He could be better only if Sir Alex lead him.

mancs are the last fans that should be complaining about players being tapped up

I am worried. In the end, the Ronaldo deal didn't go through, and I am starting to fear the Berbatov deal is going the same way.
