Fergie Confirms Berba Bid!

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed today the player we have put a bid in for. Surprise, surprise, it's Berbatov!

Talking to 'The Sun', Ferguson confirmed the bid, but refused to go into details of the proposed deal.

'We have made Tottenham an offer on Berbatov...'

He then went on to state his confidence in prising the Bulgarian away from White Hart Lane.

'...and we have good expectations that this deal will go through.'

There is no doubting how much Berbatov would improve our attack, something Fergie was quick to point out.

'Berbatov has been impressive during a long time and would be a great addition to our attack.'

Fergie spoke before the squad jetted off to South Africa to take part in a pre-season tournament, and reports over the weekend had suggested United were going to play a waiting game to get their man; which has now been all but confirmed by Ferguson.

'I think time will work for us more than against us. We will not stress this situation. We are hoping to have a constructive conversation with Tottenham in the near future.'

So, like him or not; it looks like Berbatov is going to be our one signing this summer. It is no secret we have been tracking him for along time, and I for one cant wait for the deal to go through.

If he can play so well with Robbie Keane, imagine what he could achieve with the likes of Rooney, Tevez, Nani and Anderson.

What do YOU think? Would Berbatov aid our cause?

Oh and CoxintheBox, where is the conformation of Barca's interest? If the Ronaldo saga has taught us anything it is that tabloids, esecially those of Spanish persuasion cannot be trusted. A team liek Barcelona get linked with any and every player and there is just as much of a chance they will get Adebayor, Drogba or any other striker out there. Face facts mate, Berbatov is coming to OT and you are beginiing to become our feeder club. Anyone up for a treble next year?

'Sir' Alex???? Read our chairman's statement on our website. The closest thing to class for your chairman will be drinking beer from a glass instead of a bottle. Berbatov will no doubt come to you but your manager stinks!

Jess433, you are the second highest spenders after chelsea over the past 3 years, so dont talk about buying cheap. Your north london rivals can say that, but not you.
