Marca: United Agree To Sell Ronaldo
Marca, Real Madrid's main weapon in their quest for more great players to be turned into mediocre has-beens, have declared that Manchester United are ready to sell Ronaldo.
According to one of the least impartial and least accurate newspapers of the world, the Glazers fear that the Portuguese's value will decrease if he's kept at Old Trafford for another season, during which he probably won't be able to repeat the heights of 2007/08.
Though Ronaldo is reportedly not welcome in the Bernabeu dressing room - Wesley Sneijder and Fabio Cannavaro have spoken out on the matter - he is still keen on the move as are Real and especially Ramon Calderon who stands no chance of a re-election as president if he fails in his quest to take Ronaldo to Madrid.
The quoted price, Ł67.5M is an amount which I believe we should accept at once. Never again shall we receive such a fee for any player and certainly not for Ronaldo. However, I'm afraid that Los Merengues do not wish to pay this kind of money: Calderon has already revealed that they are in only if the player is available at a reasonable price.
Still, as I said, Calderon is under pressure to deliver therefore if United and the Glazers are strong enough during the negotiations, then we can pull of the transfer coup of the century - as Calderon himself had said earlier.
