Finally names are beginning to be linked with the EUROPEAN champions. Took it's time, didnt it!

The latest of which is 20 year old Athletico Madrid striker, Sergio Aguero - one of the brightest prospects in Argentina....a tall feat whern you consider they already have the likes of Messi, Tevez and Lucho Gonzalez on their books!

I will refrain from giving my opinion on the player until anything concrete materialises, but valued at £35 million, this signing would suggest we COULD be planning for life without Ronaldo.

Though we have not been named specifically, quotes from the agent would lead the mind to think either us or Arsenal were interested.

Speaking to the media, agent Jose Segui admitted a top English club was interested in his client.

"I have had interest from a leading English team and they have asked me to approach Atletico with a bid. I cannot say more until I have spoken to the club about the offer. All I can tell you is that it is one of the best teams in Europe and it's not Chelsea."


Leading English team? One of the best teams in Europe? Not Chelsea?

I'll leave you to discuss whether this is more media BS, a desperate attempt by an agent to raise thier clinet's profile, or the real deal!

but is he a bit too similar to tevez and rooney. i must admit, i am a bit of a philistine when it comes to la liga. i would prefere an outr and out striker, such ass huntealaar or preferably berbatov, who is a bit of both.

aguero is ready for the EPL. if you sign him it would benefit you but also likely mean the end of ronaldo. it would be a blessing in disguise.

Only if we dont sign Tevez we should get Aguira(?), no doubt he is a quality players and would love to see him at OT but the fact that Rooney and Tevez are very similar to him i dont see the point....we need a tall striker

I'm thinking he's more of a replacement for Tevez? But just a note-- "Kun" Aguero is a Liverpool fan. He had a chance to move to Liverpool instead of Atleti, but only rejected them because his mom thought the language difference would make the move too difficult... Anyway, he's a great player for sure. Youngest player to play in the Argentine 1st division. I wouldn't say he's as much of an artist as Messi.. that's the Atletico Madrid press hyping Kun up. But he is a great player, although immature (but hey, Nani is too, and so was Ronaldo). I wouldn't compare his style with Rooney's and Tevez's.. he's far less physical. I'm not sure about him moving to the Prem- he's not physical enough. However, I said the same about Torres, and even though Torres dives like hell and can't stay up on his feet, he seems to do fine

more lengthy stuff: Aguero didn't link up well with Torres at all, so maybe we can hope he doesn't want to repeat that at Liverpool. In the past season, he and Diego Forlan were amazing together... Decide for yourself how that makes you feel. Also: http://youtube.com/watch?v=H86yqEc0-ps
