Eagles To Leave

Eagles To Leave

It's been coming for a while: Chris Eagles is, painfully, not good enough to hold down a place at Manchester United - but far too talented to be content with languishing in the Reserves.

It was rumoured that Championship clubs would like to sign the 22-year-old winger and now Burnley admitted their interest.

'It`s a bit complicated, in that there is another club interested in him, but he has real quality,' Clarets booss Owen Coyle told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

'We had a terrific meeting with him and his representative, obviously with permission from his club, because there would be a big fee involved in that.'

It will not be the biggest news of the summer if he leaves but he will depart with my best wishes: after all, we won't forget his goal at Everton in April 2007, will we?

I started having hopes for him after he dominated in last seasons pre season , scoring 3 goals i think. But your right, he isnt good enough for our first team. A moove to Burnley would be a good idea, though i am a bit suprised none of the nely-promoted teams have had a punt on him...i think he could do well in a team such as hull or stoke.

once again we'll start the season with a few losses...i hope we start better than last year...I was almost convinced last year that after 2 draws and a loss, in our first 3 games, we'd lost the EPL so easily... but we've proved too tough to go down so easily.
