Ronaldo Surgery Successful

Cristiano Ronaldo underwent ankle surgery today in order to get rid of a problem that's been bothering him for weeks now. He was playing through the injury during the last few weeks of the campaign to help us to the glorious Double.

'Cristiano Ronaldo underwent surgery today (Monday 7 July) on his right ankle,' the club announced.

'The operation was performed by Professor C. Niek van Dijk at The Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam and initial indications are that the procedure was successful.

An estimation of his return to full fitness will be possible following a review by the specialist in one month.
