Rio, Stop Talking About Ronaldo, Please

Rio Ferdinand still believes that it would be to the benefit of the club if Ronaldo decided to stay. Myself, I'm not so sure but I'm convinced that Rio should take his mind off this saga and just dodge the journalists' questions.

'We'd love him to be with us next season. Whatever happens is going to happen.

'We're like the fans, we pick up the papers and read what is going on. We know as much as anyone else.

'We will be going to pre-season and I am sure Ronaldo will be there and we will be going with the aim of working hard together and starting off a good new season.'

Really, Rio's just wasting his time. Whatever he says won't change Ronaldo's mind, apparently. His agents, friends, advisors, who-knows-whats have already swayed his mind: if he stays it will be because he does not like Real Madrid's offer.

The latest rumours suggest that could be the case: he's angered by Real Madrid's behaviour and if he gets a new and improved contract he's ready to stay. I don't know how many fans would consider that a decent piece of business: I don't think that after publicly declaring he wanted to play for Real he deserves a new contract.

If he wants to stay then stay on the current terms but the best would be to get that crazy amount of money and buy three good players from his price.

Its got to the stage Zae that I'm hoping he leaves - he has crossed the point of no return in my book. The only scenario it would be ebneficial for us if he stayed wouldd be if this saga rolled on all Summer and it left us with no chance of getting a replacement. Because we cannot cop with just Nani, Giggs and Park - plus Hargreaves as backup. I may be alone in this (though i presume im not) but i am actually HOPING he leaves now. I just cant imagine the scenario next season if he stays and when he scores.....I will want to cheer but it would feel wrong to.

I for one defiantly want him to go.A United player who doesn't come out and say he wants to stay is not welcome playing for "The" greatest club in the world.
SweetLeftFoot
Lets just get the most we can for him, add it to our transfer budget and sign 2 or 3 top players.
Kanchelskis
I never want to see him in a United shirt again.I've barely forgiven Rio for meeting Kenyon after the club stood by him when he should have *****ed in the bottle.Ronaldo I know I can never forgive.

I dont like to see United fans turning on Ronaldo, this is what Real Madrid probably want so we end up HAVING to sell him meaning we wont get as much at the end of the day i have never seen (on TV) Ronaldo say he wants to leave but i have seen him say numerous times that he is happy here and that he would love to stay If he decides to stay i for one will not hold anything against him, IMO he hasnt done anything wrong except for maybe playing with the media (the whole 'i like the white kit.....national white kit that is' lol which i have to admit i laughed at :| ) I mean just hear how many times he says he wants to stay http://youtube.com/watch?v=WlWGEKR_L6A I do believe however that he will someday leave OT but hopefully not for a long time yet (maybe when he is 28)

Wooaa, lets not forget what a hero he was for you last season. Even if he is acting a bit g** now!
Just-an-Ipswich-fan
not tempted to sign Anton so Rio can play with his little bruv?
merlin
a hero he was last year, yes...but lets not forget the people that made him a hero Just-an-Ipswich-fan. You dont turn your back on them for money just like that. He has shown very poor character and integrity. I, for one, think he will stay... I dont want him to, cause the glass has broken, but he;ll definately help a lot... Still pride is more important, and I dont get how SAF can so easily forget that...he's kicked out players for lesser reasons... maybe he is getting soft...

Read my post above and Ferguson knows how good Ronaldo is and could be (he can easily improve) He aints gonna let Ronaldo go because some newspapers are taking things out of hand, i bet ronaldo has never said he wants to leave to Ferguson. People like you alex and most of the united fans i talk to are falling into the Real Madrid trap, If Ronaldo is booed in our games the club will probably HAVE to sell meaning Real Madrid can get Ronaldo for a cut down price

Ronaldo will go eventually either way. Why not sell him now for a sick amount of money, spend it on three quality players and have the last laugh? If he stays he'll have a tough time.

RadioactiveD. "Ronaldo will go eventually either way". How do u work that out. He cant go both ways.
