'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Congratulations Paul Ince!

Blackburn Rovers have appointed ex-United, Liverpool and Inter Milan star Paul Ince as their new manager.

Ince follows in the footsteps of another ex-United ace Mark Hughes by plying his trade with the Lancashire based club. Indeed, Ince joins the list of 8 other ex-United players to manage in the Premier League:

- Mark Hughes (Blackburn/Man City)
- Steve Bruce (Birmingham/ Wigan)
- Steve Coppell (Reading)
- Gordon Strachan (Coventry/Southampton)
- Bryan Robson (Middlesbrough/West Brom)
- Brian Kidd (Blackburn)
- George Graham (Arsenal/Leeds/Spurs)
- Ray Wilkins (Fulham)

*Also let`s not forget Stewart Houston, who was caretaker manager at the Gunners for a brief stint in 1996.

Everyone here at Vital United would like to wish Ince all the best for the future and look forward to tussles between him and Fergie in the coming seasons.

Sparky is a real professional, eh? Man U, then chelsea, then Man City for manager. He's not into the sentimental stuff of the game...

off the subject of course, but any news on Ando and his injury caused by that goon Mascherano?
alexpant
^^^OMG - cant belibe i forgot Roy Keane (Sunderland). Make that 9 then :)
united4life
looking down that list, apart form Ginger in Sweaty land, have any of the others actually won anything?
merlin
To be fair merlin look at the teams - i dont think even fergie or wenger could turn west brom or coventry etc into trphy winnign sides. Also it depends on what you choose as winning - Keane won the championship.

He was a fantastic leader for us and you, hopefully he can carry that into PL management, he has already showed what he can do at macclesfield and MK Dons, now lets hope he gets a fair crack of the whip in the PL with Blackburn.
RobbieGODFowler
Good luck to him!
Tosswink
good luck to him but a world of difference between blackburn and mk dons......
ernshaw
If he spends wisely he will be alright.
rooneyisgod
if not - he'll be doomed! Blackburn the new Bolton perhaps!
merlin
interestingly your list has three players we could lay claim to!
merlin
I can think of two merlin (Hughes and Wilkins)...who is the other one?
united4life
Is it George Graham? I could Wiki it but cant be assed :)

He's gonna do a quality job in the premiership for Blackburn. Even if they are an undesireable club.
