Ramsey Snubs United

The tug-of-war for Aaron Ramsey looks set to be won by Arsenal after Cariff City confirmed on their website that the teenager had his heart set on a move to the Emirates.

To be honest, the whole transfer has dragged on a little and its good to get it over with. True, he will probably be a great player, and under Arsene Wenger that is pretty much definate, but we all understand it would have been one for the future, and I think the youth and exuberance we have in central midfield at the moment is adequate enough.

It is believed that United's deal was in fact lower than Arsenal's £5 million bid; but a loan-back next season was the reason Cardiff were so keen on the youngster joining United.

But never mind - I'm not going to begrudge Arsenal for a great buy, as in my opinion £5 million for a player of Ramsey's potential is a steal - and as I mentioned in a previos article, Ramsey had great choices in both Arsenal and United, as well as Everton.

So, lets look forward to future battles between Ramsey and Anderson and wish Ramsey all the best for the future. Also, let us congratulate Arsenal on a great signing and perhaps now our attention can switch to our main transfer targets....a right-back and an out-and-out striker.

ive been told he isnt anything special anyway by lower league fans, lets get to the real buying!
fenton_01
his mistake.
SweetLeftFoot
It's far from definitive that he will be a top player: Arsenal buy dozens of teenagers every season and only one or two ever make the grade. And Wenger is not famous for nurturing British talent. Ramsey was probably afraid of the pressure but he made a wrong decision

cmon, can we not just accept defeat gracefully. ramsey had great choices for choosing us AND arsenal, but in the end he opted for arsenal. fair play, i have no problem with that, you cannot say he was seekign money but purely made a decison on where he thought hsi future potential could be best achieved. and personally, dont you think he has a better chance of playing some football for a flamini-less arsenal than united that already have too many midfielders to fit in with hargreaves, carrick, scholes and of course anderson....not to mention fletcher and o'shea. i can understand why he chose arsenal and thats why im not bitter about it. lets move on, there is bigger fish to fry this summer.

Nicely put U4L, good luck to the lad and well done arsenal, lets see who will be linked to us next in the torrent of respected tabloid rumours!
Tosswink

hes ok, not to worried about it, theres always the new giggs/ronaldo/pele/messi/kaka who comes along all the time anyway.
Paulinho
If we have actually signed him at all. We have a history of getting to this stage in negotiations and then it all goes tits up!
Rocky7
He isn't signed by United, hes going to Arsenal. Thats what the article is about.
Paulinho

Oh well lets sit back and watch arsenal choke the talent out of another british player like theo.
rooneyisgod
You don't know what your talking about, Wenger is the best developer of young talent around.
