United Legend Slams Ronaldo!

Following the news we brought you earlier that Ronaldo had said he wants to join Real, we pick up on some quotes from United's legendary number 7, Eric Cantona.

Having just seen the news confirmed on Sky Sports News, I think it is time to move on, no-one is bigger than the club and Ronaldo's attitude in recent weeks has been nothing less than selfish.

But, this is no time to be down - indeed I feel a strange sense of excitement with the news of Ronaldo's probable departure. We still have a team full of world-class stars and I have faith in Fergie and Quieroz that they will bring in another top quality winger.

This is a view shared by ex-red Eric Cantona, who spoke of Ronaldo's situation:

"United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. They have been winning, are winning and will continue to win things generation after generation. They will always win whoever they have playing for them."

Here, here Cantona!

Ronaldo expressed a desire to become a legendary number 7 like Best, Cantona and Beckham....but sadly, he never will!

I feel with you, we know how it is if you have players who only play for the club for money...

its a sign of the times that a player can hold the cards over the best team in europe. Its a case of im the bollox I'll do what I want
spurs
omg ronaldo is doin my nut in atm
fenton_01
The King has spoken! I'm now beginning to think Ronaldo is off though. Why should he listen to anyone else when the sun (he seems to think) so obviously shines out of his arse?
beeninsane
im torn between selling and letting him rot. how funny would it be to see him in the stands when we are winning more trophys next season. ******** priceless.
rooneyisgod
personally i think w eshould sell him for top dollar....but not to madrid, give him to barcelona!
united4life
Yep, it would be nice if he ended up at Barcelona, just to show those cun*s at Madrid... Cantona is a legend, Ronaldo blew his chance of becoming one.
midlothian99
Seriously.....LETS TAKE THE MONEY! WE wont get as much from him like we could get this year! So I say we should cash in!
ForeverUnited
Don't hate Ronaldo for wanting to be the best and win everything possible. He will be staying, articles like this are adding to the fuel that MADRID ARE CRAVING RIGHT NOW. I am furious that Madrid are doing this to unsettle him before the Euros just so Spain's enemy(Portugal) can become less a threat.
Paulinho
Paulinho, no one hates ronaldo for wanting to be the best. But personally, I hate him for betraying us like that. Man U have given him everything and he thinks about MORE money...Going to Real wont make him better, thats for sure...and the 07-08 year of ronaldo will not happen again. We should consider ourselves lukcy it did, this year But I agree with Rooneyisgod. I'm really tempted of wishing he rots on the stands and destroyes his career being so selfish... On the other hand, why not cash in like many of u say, and come back stronger with three more players of top class calibre?
alexpant
Even if he stays, people will not want him since they have now seen how "green" his loyalty is, instead of red... lets swap him for messi!!!!
alexpant
Its not very nice when other teams constantly try to turn your best players head is it!! You reap what you sew Fergie! This is karma at its greatest.
fazu
#1 - You don't know if he'll have another season like this one. #2 All he has said is he would like to play for Real, thats all. For all you know he could have told that and say he wants to stay at United but obviously Real and tabloids will twist his words. All you have to do is wait until something happens before you can bash the guy. #3 Did you REALLY think he was staying his whole life? Hes not british, England is not his home, but Spain is the closest thing to being close to his family and his mom who isn't exactly doing the greatest.
Paulinho
hahaha fazu - what goes around comes around indeed!

Ronaldo is being pressured by his friends and family. Beside don't think he would leave because of the money. He would be closer to home and Madrid's weather is nice!
ForeverUnited
^ yup, and not only that, Nani, Anderson and the Brasilian twins came to United because of him. If he just up and leaves right now they would be *****ed. Come there to play footy with him and he leaves just like that?
