We Are Robbed - No Victory Parade

Greater Manchester police and Manchester city council, consulting with United, decided there would be no victory parade or open bus tour should United win the Champions League.

The celebratory even might take place in the summer, at a yet unspecified time but it's a disappointment. And the reason? Fan clashes after the UEFA Cup final.

Now I'm aware of the fact that the council made a pig's ear of organisation and that the police wasn't really up to the task of handling Rangers and Zenit supporters. This much is clear.

But are Scottish and Russian supporters still likely to be in the city when United return from Moscow? I know there are a few Chelsea fans living in Manchester but surely they will not feel up to stir up some trouble?

It is of course clear that a jubilant crowd always carries dangers. But there was no trouble when United sealed the league title at Wigan. Celebrations, yes, trouble, no. Why would United fans start to beat up each other why the team is carrying around the Champions League trophy?

Obviously if we lose the final then nobody will want to celebrate really. But we should: after all, it's been an excellent season, we won the league, played fantastic football and got to the Champions League final. It deserves a proper celebration immediately after it ends - not some watered version taking place in the summer.

Parade during the summer? The Euros are next month... I doubt people will return from the main land if someone wins the tourny.

things are tough up here at the moment guys and we are still trying to cope with the loss of Tommy Burns ,, a true gentleman and an inspiration to everyone ,, but hopefully we can pay him the ultimate tribute and replicate United,s title triumph ,, so sorry that the scum that is rangers have ruined your proposed victory parade ,, if it,s any consolation ,, you dont have to share a city with Scotland's shame ,, anyway ,, would just like to wish you the best of British on Wednesday and I sincerely hope you are crowned Champions of Europe again ,, all the very best to all at England,s Premier club ,, HAIL ,, HAIL ......

mcfcthriller - The ref handing United the league is your 'opinion' - Abramovic handing uncle Avram the team sheet every week is probably more closer to fact.
skylab
why not though, were not exactly gonna trash the place, we'll be celebrating!
