Sky are mercilessly hyping up Sunday's title decider, branding it the most exciting Sunday ever. United should ruin their proposed drama.
It is of course the first time in Premier League history that the teams at the top are tied on points approaching the final day. I'd say that 1995 was better though as Blackburn faced one hell of a challenge on the final day and could be expected to drop points, unlike United this time.
That final day was very much to Sky's liking as it turned out to extraordinary. My point is that this time we should make sure it will the anticlimax of the century.
Imagine the following: United and Chelsea are on level terms. Sky is hyping up the final day, saying it's the most exciting thing since sliced bread. The world is holding its breath, expecting fascinating drama. Then the refs blow their whistles and the game starts.
How gloriously hilarious it would be if United were four up in half an hour? This is one of the favourite feats of the Reds and would effectively end Sky's day within 30 minutes. It would one of the most satisfying title wins ever.
Of course, the probability of us turning over Wigan so easily is as close to zero that it can be safely called impossible, especially without Rooney. But then scoring two goals in two minutes in the stoppage time of a Champions League final without Scholes and Keane was supposed to be impossible, too.
