'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fergie peeved by Nani red (AUDIO)

A vital ten days for Manchester United ended on a good note as they hammered West Ham 4-1 at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo's 39th & 40th goals of the season set them on their way before a stunning Carlos Tevez striker made it three on just 26 minutes. Dean Ashton responded in style for the visitors with an overhead kick reducing the arrears before Nani received his marching orders for a ridiculous headbutt on Lucas Neill in an action packed first half.

Ex-West Ham midfielder Michael Carrick ensured all 3 points stayed in Manchester meaning a victory at Wigan next weekend would secure the title for a second straight season.

Speaking after the match, Sir Alex Ferguson admitted although he was pleased with the performance, he was ultimately disappointed with Nani's sending off, meaning he's out now for the remaining game and also the first two of next season.

But he's delighted to still have their noses in front with Chelsea still to play two more games.
