Rooney May Be On The Bench

Mixed news on injury front: Patrice Evra is fit to face West Ham, Wayne Rooney may be on the bench but Nemanja Vidic misses out.

Evra's case is simple: he recovered from being kicked in the face by Deco and will probably be in the starting line-up. Vidic who suffered a concussion after being knocked out by Drogba's knee is recovering but he's still not sufficiently fit. He should be ready for Wigan.

Rooney's hip injury did not clear up enough for a return to the starting line-up though.

'Wayne may be on the bench,' revealed Sir Alex at his pre-match press conference.

'But we've got a major final to think about and we're not going to rush him.'

Therefore Carlos Tevez who ran his lungs out on Tuesday will start again while Brown will once again partner Rio Ferdinand at the heart of the defence. Either John O'Shea or Gary Neville could play right-back if Fergie decides to give a rest to Owen Hargreaves, or use him in midfield.

id liek to see neville given a chance. i know its a massive game for us, but i think owen needs a rest and i think neville would be the ideal replacement.

With two games to go in the league nobody needs a rest imo.SAF should start his strongest team with whoever he has available and if we get get into a lead take them off and rest them.3 points is vital.Plus, win our two league games we're champions and then the players have 10 days to recover before the champions league final.

The last thing we need right now is an expereimental starting 11. Lets hope SAF puts out his strongest team.
