'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's Ronaldo Again!

Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year award for the second year in a row.

No surprises there: after winning the PFA award, United's 38-goal-man won the other award, too.

'Ronaldo's award is no surprise after his brilliant form this season and incredible goal-scoring record - 38 at the moment -and he is, of course, essentially a winger,' said Paul Hetherington, chairman of the FWA.

'Cristiano was an overwhelming winner and, given his age, he has the potential and ability to dominate this award for years in an unprecedented way.'

Now I suppose the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year awards are next... we'll see in December but if United, dare I say it, win the Champions League then he won't be able to jump out of the way of these prizes.
