'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United Talk The Talk After Walking The Walk!

United beat Barcelona 1-0 thanks to a wonder strike from Paul Scholes. Here's what the participants had to say after the game.

Sir Alex Ferguson: 'The fans were absolutely brilliant. When our crowd gets like that, we never let them down. They make such an impact, they force us to play.'

'That was a great performance, we had so many good players, it`s a shame to pick out just one. Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand… you could go right across the back four. But Tevez to me was absolutely fantastic. Tevez at times was an absolute terrier.'

'It was excruciating, that`s what it was. The pain and the agony - I always feel that to get success, the players have to endure that. All the hard work, all the pain and torment you go through in football is rewarded by a result like tonight`s.'

Michael Carrick: 'It's as much relief as anything. We put so much pressure on ourselves to achieve big things. We were so desperate to get to the final and win it. We knew it was going to be tough but we've made it.'

'To cap off a night like this with a goal of that quality was brilliant.'

Cristiano Ronaldo: "The fans were absolutely fantastic," Ronaldo told MUTV. "They did a great job and sang for the whole game. It gave the players motivation and helped us get a massive result."

"The feeling is great. It will be my first Champions League final and I feel very good. It`s great for me and my colleagues. The final is in three weeks and we have time to work and keep our concentration. But the most important thing now is the league."

Rio Ferdinand: 'We had to dig deep in the end, but we feel we did enough to make it to the final,' Rio admitted after the game.

'We had to show discipline, quality in the goal from Paul Scholes - and what a goal! - and then resilience. We stuck together and we're there now. I don't care who we face in the final. We're there and that's all that matters.

Ji-sung Park: 'I was talking to Patrice Evra about Scholesy in training before the game. He was unbelievable. We said that he would do something big in the game and he did.'

Wes Brown: 'It was a great goal, unbelievable. I`m just glad it was Scholesy, he deserves it. He`s got us into the final.'

United are utter feckin pants, bought their titles all these years, and now they´re envious that someone else has the financial foundation to build a quality team and challenge them....feckin muppets.
