So, Liverpool Or Chelsea?

Manchester United are in the Champions League final. That is clear and that is brilliant. But who do we want to play in Moscow?

Neither option is too desireable. Both are well-organised, frustratingly stubborn sides who are very difficult to beat. We know them well, just as they know us.

In terms of playing personnel, Chelsea have the edge, mainly due to their bench. Of the two managers, though Avram Grant's doubters were silenced of late, Rafa Benitez holds the upper hand, especially as he's got tons of experience in this competition.

There are some obvious things, too. It would be much, much, much sweeter to win against Liverpool - but it would be infinitely more terrible to lose it against them. Losing to Chelsea would be a major disappointment and a squandered opportunity - losing to Liverpool would be hell taking over the Earth.

Getting revenge on Chelsea for Saturday would be nice and there's something else to it. We won our last four games against Liverpool - and I feel it would be stretching our luck if we expected to win again, though we are clearly the superior team. They're bound to get lucky sooner or later and they get lucky more often in the Champions League than anyone else.

Chelsea are somewhat our bogey team but will they beat us in two successive cup finals? Shall we lose in such an unfortunate fashion we did on Saturday? We're bound to get lucky... So my vote goes for Chelsea - they are in much the better position anyway.

But one thing is clear: I'll enjoy watching this game in the knowledge that United are in the Final. It's just too sweet.

hmmm, froma united point of view, i'd prefer liverpool coz manutd always beat them and after seeing the teams and manager, i dont see that trend changing. but ofcourse, a chelsea-manutd final would be very good and very DULL.
chelseaforever

i'm torn... beating liverpool in the champions league final would be toooo good while we should get revenge on chelsea... who knows what will happen, who knows
Vidicinho
Last time the all english final is between Villa vs Forest, rite?
Cretivo
i don't think there was an all-english final before
Vidicinho
as a neutral I'm puzzled who I most want to LOSE tonight and then I've got a bigger problem for the final decision! Good that an English team is going to win but not good it isn't going to be Villa basically!
The Fear
haha, you gotta wait for that for a while! but you've won it once, that's exactly one more than what the mighty arsenal have managed.
Vidicinho
i think the was Vidic... lemme go and google it for a while...
Cretivo
Hohoho... i thought being a Villan it's 'clear cut choice' :?
Cretivo
No, there wasn't an all-English final. In the Champions League era, last season's was the first occasion that it was possible by the time of the semis. In the European Cup era, only Forest and Liverpool managed to reach the final after winning it the previous year - of course the only chance of an all-English final would have been if the English holder had met the reigning English champions.
