Rooney Won't Play Full-back Again

We will see the real Wayne Rooney against Barcelona, insists Fergie.

The striker was deployed in a defensive role - that's what most observers said after the Barcelona game. Me, I'd say he played full-back - or wing-back, if I want to be generous.

To say that is not his natural position would be the understatement of the century. And fortunately, Fergie does not plan to convert him into a defender.

'Wayne sacrificed himself on Wednesday and he had no problem in when I told him what I wanted from him,' he revealed.

'Wayne's a team player who sacrifices himself all the time. He has the ability and energy to do that for the team.

'Although he didn't play to his normal standard, he'll be playing a different position on Tuesday.

'You will see a different Wayne Rooney then - believe me.'

Hell, yeah, if you asked Wayne Rooney to play in goal or carry the water he would do it. But does that mean he CAN do it effectively enough? Not necessarily.

Hopefully Fergie's promise mean that he will the spearhead of our attacking trio of Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo on Tuesday. If that's the case then I can't wait for the game.

Fan of Blues

united4life - I made a comment, and I'm not a chelski fan. Also if the reports are true calling Evra an immigrant - it's not racist anyway. Don't you think? Evra has travelled to this country to work, therefore he is an immigrant - that is not based upon race it is based upon travel status - therefore not racist.
