Henrik Larsson On Legend Status

Henrik Larsson explains why his former team-mates and management at both Celtic and Man United helped to make him the legend he is today.

Someone just told me I was named fourth in a magazine's list of the best overseas footballers to play in Britain. That's a real honour.

I also know there is no way I would ever get that sort of recognition if it wasn't for my team-mates. I was incredibly lucky at Celtic to have players around me who gave me the opportunity to do what I could do best. I also had a manager who believed in me and let me play the way that would get the best from me.

It was the same in my short time at Manchester United, where I had great players to work with and another brilliant manager. When you play with quality you get the chance to do things right.

java, you missed his point. He said Henrik Larsson is his favorite player of all time. This means he was watching his idol score. Whats wrong with that?

Henrik is a Celtic legend, one of the greats of the game. He did not badly for you lot either, at the tender age of 36. One wonders what he would have achieved at Old Trafford had Celtic agreed to sell him to you for 10 m in '99. Glad that never happened, obviously. He's worshipped at Barca, too, let's not forget. He could still do a job for a top club even today.

Henrik is a credit to the game of football,a true pro.Loved the guy at Celtic and wish he came to United earlier.
