Game Over For Chelsea?

We owe one for Steve Bruce after his Wigan side stole a point from Stamford Bridge to leave Chelsea's title hopes in tatters. But do they still have a chance?

In my prediction, I had this weekend down as one where Chelsea will close the gap by beating Wigan while we only draw against Arsenal. The exact opposite happened and now we have one hand on the Premiership trophy.

Chelsea are on the brink of disaster: on Thursday they have to visit Everton and if they don't win there, we can afford to take the youth team to the Bridge between the two games against Barca.

So what do they have to do to harbour hopes of lifting the trophy? Well, first and foremost Chelsea have to win all of their remaining four games. Everton away, Manchester United home, Newcastle away, Bolton home - not an easy schedule.

But if they manage to collect 12 points, it's still not enough. United must either lose one or draw two of their other three games. So, for example, drawing at Blackburn, losing at the Bridge, winning against West Ham and at Wigan suffice.

It is unlikely that we'll throw it away, I admit but a possibility. Therefore we must not relax the way Chelsea players did last night after taking the lead. Frankly, I was astonished to see that they seemed uninterested in the whole affair. Surely such an attitude does not bode well for the remainder of their campaign?

Just for the record: I think we can still lose it. However, no team leading the Premier League with four games to go have ever bottled it.

Hopefully not, but it will be VERY difficult!
Adilson
Wouldn't say its over yet but we'll beat you at the Bridge.
C_Blue
nah, united will win or draw
fenton_01
united wont lose C_Blue. The way guys are playing, so boringly, tehy'llprobably tear u apart with their speed, especially if Anderson is playing. It'll take a really bad united to lose.
alexpant
United can be really bad when we expect it the least but I agree that we are a better team than Chelsea at the moment.
Zae
I don't know. There might some more twists, but I think it's over, unless you lose at Ewod Park and we beat you at the Bridge.
Fan of Blues
ill feel comfortable once weve beaten blackburn. im predicting chelsea will fail to beat everton.
rooneyisgod
What about West Ham? It's been a while since you beat em. But since I have the feeling that the game at Stamford Bridge will probably hold about the same level of excitement as last years bore from the end of the season and will probably end a draw, I think we have missed our chance this year.
The_Legend_Of_Zola
Surely West Ham won't avoid defeat for the fourth time in a row against us?
Zae
no chance at all imho.
The Fear
we can draw at blackburn and losr at chelsea and still win......and thats presuming chelsea can win all theit other games. everton and newcastle away will be tough. dont want to sound arrogant, but i gotta think its over now!

Arrogant? A manure fan! Surely not?

A Chelski win on Thursday and a UNITED draw on Saturday would make me a little nervous but hopefully we can take all 3 against B'burn and that'll be game, set and match no matter what happens at Chelski Village! It's getting funnier now every time I think of Ballack turning us down for trophies....or I mean ruebles ;)
java
I wonder if you lot wouldn't mind lending Tevez back to West Ham, just for the game against you. If you lose the PL now, it would be a shocker. And if you beat us at The Bridge, I fear for Avram's head!
Bumps
I don't fear for his head! ;p
Fan of Blues
Thanx Bruce!
