'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fergie delighted with win (AUDIO)

A quite simply sensational performance from Manchester United overcame an Aston Villa side who, despite the result, put on a determined display at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo's stunning back heel opened the scoring on 17 minutes before the Portuguese winger continued his unbelievable form by setting up Carlos Tevez just after the half hour mark and producing another flick for Wayne Rooney to score his first league goal in Manchester since October. The shoe-in for Player of the Year then teamed up with the England striker again for Rooney's second with 20 minutes left.

Sir Alex Ferguson, speaking after the match, said the performance could have reaped more goals but admits he has no complaints after United won their sixth Premier League game on the spin, scoring 18 goals in the process with just one conceded. Fergie believes after Arsenal's impressive comeback at Bolton, the result meant even more as they maintained their lead over their North London challengers.
