Roma Without Totti For Tuesday

Francesco Totti will miss Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against United with a thigh strain.

The Roma skipper aggravated an earlier injury at Cagliari where the Giallorossi earned a 1-1 draw to keep their title hopes alive. He had to be substituted after 60 minutes and is certain to miss the game against the English champions.

He is a major doubt for the second leg, too, but I expect him to be ready for that. In his absence Mirko Vucinic is expected to play up front for Roma. Alberto Aquilani will support him in 'the hole', as the usual occupant of that position, Simone Perrotta is suspended.

Vucinic is a serious threat, not much worse than Totti. Somethimes I think that Totti keeps his place in the starting 11 largely due to his 'iconic' status. Vucinic sometimes looks even better.

Agreed.Vucinic is a brilliant player.Roma can well cope without Totti although I wouldn't be surprised if he gets passed fit ;) Wasn't Rio ruled out of our game against the bindippers ;))

I think Vucinic as the lone striker wont be any different then Torres and Benzema who were lone strikers for their team as well. And SURELY Torres is better and harder to handle then Vuc.
Paulinho
Boost eh? They've still got the Championship to go for!
