Simmo Out - Neville In?

Danny Simpson has been loaned out to Championship side Ipswich Town for the remainder of the season as Gary Neville stepped up his comeback bid.

The United skipper completed 90 minutes of action as the reserves thrashed Manchester City 4-1. Mikael Silvestre also played 75 minutes and their imminent return convinced Ferguson that he won't need Simpson as much as the 21-year-old Salford lad needs games.

"I`ve let Danny Simpson go on loan to Ipswich, a good football team, until the end of the season," he declared.

"It`s good for the lad - with Gary Neville coming back, the boy needs games."

He added that Mikael Silvestre has shown tremendous energy and Gary Neville isn't far away from a comeback.

As we have games left in which anybody with a little common sense would risk Simpson, I say this decision is a correct one. But I expect him to feature more regularly next season.
