Rio And Edwin Still Doubtful
Though we reported that Van der Sar and Rio Ferdinand are back in training, it's not certain that they will play against Liverpool on Sunday.
'We`re waiting to see how Edwin van der Sar and Rio Ferdinand train this morning,' Sir Alex said.
'They both have to train to give me the confidence to play them. I`m doubtful for Rio, I`m hopeful for Edwin. One out of two would be a bonus, given their experience.'
The manager also confirmed that Louis Saha picked up a knock on Wednesday - no surprises there - that flared up a bit after training but he should be fine to feature against the dippers.
The loss of Rio would be huge, given the form of Torres so if I had to choose between Edwin and him, it would be the defender - we simply need him more!
