Rio And Edwin Is Fit

Our defensive unit received a major boost: Rio Ferdinand and Edwin van der Sar should both be fit for the visit of Liverpool on Sunday.

Ferdinand, struggling with a back injury, was deemed a doubt but it seems he should be all right to start the game that could be crucial to our title hopes.

Edwin's situation is a strange one as both his deputees performed admirably in his absence yet to my mind (and surely Fergie agrees) if he's fit, he has to start as he's our best and most experienced keeper by far.

I hope the news about their fitness is true as I did not relish the prospect of Torres taking on Brown and Kuszczak - Ferdinand and Van der Sar is an entirely different proposition.
