'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Manucho Will Shine

As Louis Saha's United career looks set to end in the summer, there's a possibility that his replacement (not injury-wise but someone who can offer similar things in attack) is already on the books.

When Manucho was denied a work permit many doubted whether he will ever return from his loan at Panathinaikos. However, Carlos Queiroz trusts the striker's ability and backs him to make an impact at Old Trafford.

"First of all he is a player that can score goals," Queiroz told the official website.

"He`s not the sort of player you come across easily and to have the possibility to bring quality forwards to our club doesn`t happen very often.

"We are absolutely convinced he has enough qualities and potential to have a chance in the game, despite the fact that he is now 25."

"He showed during that competition (the African Nations Cup) that he is a special forward: a tall target man, a typical number nine in the box but also with enough skills to play the game and support the players behind. He`s also good with both feet and can score from inside the box or from distance," added the Portuguese tactician.

"He just needs the opportunity to learn the game and get used to the pace of European football.

"We believe sending him on loan to Panathinaikos will help him to develop and if everything goes well we hope next season we will see him among our players."

So be it, so be it. I, for one, can't wait to see him in a red shirt.

He looked good in the ACN. Scored a couple of tidy goals, probably a good buy - you lot do tend to be quite good at signing strikers (ignoring Forlan :P)

Agree, looked good at African Cup of Nations. Should be good.

Hes scored for Panathinaikos the other weekend. Forlan can't be to terrible he was top goal scorer in La Liga a few seasons back.
Paulinho
