Foster To Be Loaned Out Again

Foster To Be Loaned Out Again

Ben Foster was tipped to fight for the number one jersey this season - but cruciate injury cut short his dreams of replacing Edwin van der Sar.

He's made his comeback against Middlesbrough in the reserves and had a good game as United won 2-1. His return to full fitness is still some time away and it is certain he won't play for the United first team this season.

Now it appears that Sir Alex reckons the most sensible option would be to send him out on loan to get back to full fitness and gain match sharpness.

"I was hoping he would come through the Reserve match last night because there is a consideration for us to put him out on loan with a Championship club until the end of the season," the boss told the official website.

"I`ll have a chat with him early next week, but we`ve already had a few enquiries for him from the Championship and I think it would be good for him. We will consider all these options at the beginning of next week."

Assuming there are no injuries, VDS is probably going to be at United for between 2 and 3 more seasons. Foster won't want to be waiting in the reserves for that time so loans seem sensible. But perhaps he should be offered to Prem clubs... There must be some willing to take on a promising young keeper!
