'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fergie's Pleasant Dilemma

United will play Lyon on Tuesday - with an embarassment of riches available for Sir Alex Ferguson to select from.

Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick were rightly applauded for their performances against Arsenal and Newcastle but they were left out of the squad entirely, as were injured duo Vidic and Giggs, against Fulham.

Though these players were missing, Fergie put Ronaldo, Rooney and Anderson only on the bench - and we still won 3-0 with a solid, assured display. It bodes well for the season but provides a headache for Fergie.

'Picking the team for Tuesday is a real headache,' he told MUTV 'I had one team in mind before the Fulham victory, but I changed my mind at half-time!'

'We've got to win against Lyon - it's a massive game for the club. All the players realise that.'

He hailed the players' professionalism, saying we were not special today but as Fulham posed little threat in the box they had little chance after going two down.

'Ji-sung's goal killed them really. It was a good goal and I'm pleased for Ji because it's his first in nearly a year.'

'It was also good to see Owen get off the mark. I've seen him take free kicks in training and he's very good as he proved today.'

i would play harreaves in midfield as though we need to attack, i think hargreaves adds some defensive reassurance too. my team would be: vds, brown, rio, vida (if fit), evra, ronaldo, hargreaves, scholes, nani, rooney, saha...tevez, anderson giggs, carrick, o'shea, pique and kuscazk on the bench (WHAT A TEAM!!)
