United Rumours: Fabiano, Lahm

The good old Mill is here once again and it's brought you some of the very finest gossip currently circulating around our very finest club.

First, it's Karim Benzema. Lyon made it clear they want Ł70m for him but he pledged to stay for another season and then move to Italy so it looks like this option is going down the toilet.

Now, according to some highly dubious sources, we are supremely confident of beating Barcelona to the signature of Phillip Lahm, Bayern Munich's right-back. He would be a white Evra on the right though he does not possess the same technical ability as our beloved Frenchman.

As we do not have astronomical amounts of money for Berbatov and Benzema, Sir Alex is looking for the budget category and feels Luis Fabiano of Sevilla fits the bill. He's certainly an able striker and would bring something different, the question is will he accept being a squad player?

Wesley Brown is almost certain to end up at Newcastle if he does not sign a new contract which seems increasingly probable. Good luck Wes, you'll need it...

And it is believed that O'Shea is wanted by some clubs, most notably the Toon and Aston Villa. We'll see but it would be a big surprise for me.

Well, Lahm can play both LB and RB. So if he were to come in and bring in Bosingwa as well. Then cover for both sides would be taken care. Likely? probably not. Hopefully? Would be nice.
