Gallas Got Away With It

The FA will take no further disciplinary action against William Gallas despite the fact that any sensible observer would have told them that he should have been sent off for that kick on Nani.

Yet the people at Soho Square, according to themselves, gave the footage to Alan Wiley, Saturday's referee, and, according to themselves, he did not see it as being worthy of a red card.

'Having viewed the footage, the referee was not satisfied that it showed evidence of violent conduct and therefore no further action will be taken.'

Excuse me? Have the rules changed since I last looked? Was it any different than Beckham's kick on Simeone in 1998? Yes, it was a lot worse. It was obviously of malicious intent, when the ball was nowhere near... if it was not worth a red card, than what is?

Of course the same people thought in 2006 that Rooney's ridiculous sending-off at the Amsterdam tournament did not consitute wrongful dismissal, uphelding his three-match ban... so it should not be a surprise. After all, the same organisation were responsible of appointing Steve McClaren.

However, we need to be alert now. It seems that our players can be kicked from behind and the culprit should not expect any punishment at all. Now I'm wondering why Wiley sent off Eboue.

Nani kicked Hoyte in the same game.

Hmmm, pretty sanctimonious article. I suppose it was ok for Reyes to get far worse treatment at OT a few seasons ago?

And lets not forget how much horseface got away with over the years. A proper nasty piece of work he is.

Violent conduct for that? You must really be worried this game was a one-off. Do you so badly need Soho Square to secure you the prem.

I thought Arsenal were a disgrace again: gallas, eboue and worst of all that dive from adebayour(??)........Dreadful. Personally I think retrospective action of banning all for 5 games and any other cheats in future, it would be a much much better game to watch

Yeah Kingtorres, I'm sure you'd be happy to see Gerrard banned for 5 games at a time every time he takes one of his dodgy tumbles. Where would Liverpool be then. 8th, 9th maybe? As it goes I thought it was disgusting when Adebayor dived, Eboue is an idiot and Gallas should have known better. They were all stupid. In future it would be much better if everyone slagged off the divers and cheats in their team rather than jumping on a bandwagon to poke the finger

He has got away with it,big deal. What goes round comes round.I would like to have seen him kick Roy Keane or Robbo a few year ago though. He would be somewhere over Oldham about now.Typical Arsenal player, always on the look out for an easy target.

I remember Reyes kicking Keane, with venom too. Luckily didn't stick around enough so Roy the brave couldn't chop off his leg in revenge.

Funny how Nani's kick on Hoyte hasn't been mentioned anywhere, or Rooney's equally pathetic dive in the first half. But that's probably because you're all armchair Mancs who watched the game in your Surrey living rooms. Arsenal were no angels on Saturday, granted. But van Nistelrooy's challenges on Lauren, Ljungberg and Keown? The Neville brothers' assault on Reyes? Rooney's dive to end our 49 match unbeaten run? Roy Keane ending Alfie Haaland's career and, big man that he is, dodging his suspension by having minor surgery? The constant disgusting chants against Wenger (while your own manager whinges like a bitch for his treeatment at Ashburton), the assault on Andy D'Urso when he had the temerity to give Boro a penalty? Ronnie Wallwork banned for life for punching a referee only for United to roll over on the authorities? Ferdinand's dodging a drug test? Crisitiano "horizontal" Ronaldo? Your house isn't so much made of glass as it is of pure sand!

what do past disciplinary records have to do with the fact that gallas should serve a three-match ban yet thanks to the stupid fa he got away with a disgusting challenge? anyway i am amazed that people who are supporting a team that once had keown have the nerve to talk about discipline. not to mention lauren.

For no reason rooneyisgod?! Van Nistlerooy is one of the most spiteful players around. He got away with so many assults on the likes of Cole and Lauren, succeeded in getting players sent off and then played it all innocent. A proper thug and a proper cheat. Decent striker he may be but there aren't many more hateful than him

u4l so you must really be feeling the pressure, because a lot of your posts are abusive,i dont feel any pressure, coz we are 5 points clear, enjoy your fixture pileup. all it takes is a couple more slipups by your team and we will be back in april to win the league in your back garden again.
