Gallas Got Away With It

Gallas Got Away With It

The FA will take no further disciplinary action against William Gallas despite the fact that any sensible observer would have told them that he should have been sent off for that kick on Nani.

Yet the people at Soho Square, according to themselves, gave the footage to Alan Wiley, Saturday's referee, and, according to themselves, he did not see it as being worthy of a red card.

'Having viewed the footage, the referee was not satisfied that it showed evidence of violent conduct and therefore no further action will be taken.'

Excuse me? Have the rules changed since I last looked? Was it any different than Beckham's kick on Simeone in 1998? Yes, it was a lot worse. It was obviously of malicious intent, when the ball was nowhere near... if it was not worth a red card, than what is?

Of course the same people thought in 2006 that Rooney's ridiculous sending-off at the Amsterdam tournament did not consitute wrongful dismissal, uphelding his three-match ban... so it should not be a surprise. After all, the same organisation were responsible of appointing Steve McClaren.

However, we need to be alert now. It seems that our players can be kicked from behind and the culprit should not expect any punishment at all. Now I'm wondering why Wiley sent off Eboue.

Hmmm, pretty sanctimonious article. I suppose it was ok for Reyes to get far worse treatment at OT a few seasons ago?

Violent conduct for that? You must really be worried this game was a one-off. Do you so badly need Soho Square to secure you the prem.

I thought Arsenal were a disgrace again: gallas, eboue and worst of all that dive from adebayour(??)........Dreadful. Personally I think retrospective action of banning all for 5 games and any other cheats in future, it would be a much much better game to watch

Yeah Kingtorres, I'm sure you'd be happy to see Gerrard banned for 5 games at a time every time he takes one of his dodgy tumbles. Where would Liverpool be then. 8th, 9th maybe? As it goes I thought it was disgusting when Adebayor dived, Eboue is an idiot and Gallas should have known better. They were all stupid. In future it would be much better if everyone slagged off the divers and cheats in their team rather than jumping on a bandwagon to poke the finger
