Tevez: Arsenal Game Is Crucial

Carlos Tevez says that the winner of today's FA Cup tie may also gain a psychological advantage in the title race.

As you probably know, we are five points adrift of our already overconfident gooner friends but as they are yet to visit Old Trafford in the league, the gap is anything but unassailable. And Tevez knows that.

'If we win this match it would be hugely important for the title race,' he said.

'Psychologically, we have the opportunity to deliver a huge blow to our rivals. People say that the Premier League is one question and the cup is another. I understand that but don't really agree.

'They are our rivals so any victory is important and that is why our squad is so concentrated ahead of this match.

'The FA Cup has a special feel and flavour but if we can win it would do much more for us than just give us a pass into the next round. This match is like a final to us in so many ways.'

The thing is, I don't think it will be a huge blow for them. They have tons of injuries so Wenger will field a weakened team, not risking his fit first-team stars. With Arsenal top of the league and Milan coming up next week, I think he already gave up the FA Cup in the moment the draw sent them to Old Trafford. A win for them would be a bonus - a defeat would not be unexpected.
