'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hargreaves Ready For Big Week

Owen Hargreaves believes United can bounce back from the recent disappointing results.

The midfielder was brought on as a substitute during the 2-1 defeat to City at Old Trafford on Sunday but is expected to start against the gooners in the FA Cup on Saturday.

He aims to put in professional performances and acknowledged that the upcoming week might prove crucial in the outcome of our season.

'I don't think there's anyone with their head down,' he said.

'The derby game has gone and we're all professional enough and have been in the game long enough to know there's a next game.

'We've got to take that opportunity to make things better.'

'It's a long season and there are definitely games in a season that are more important than others.

'Next week is one of those weeks - we're in three competitions and it's very important to see what direction we are heading in.

'But this is why our players are at Manchester United - because we expect to win games. And winning games is what we are going to have to do.'

It's time players started doing their talking on the pitch not in the press. Every day we get idiotic articles by one or more utd players. Running scared, or what?
bseymour
Hmm, I found your comment quite idiotic...
Tosswink
that is right bseymour, they were talking the same way after the spuds game and before the city match, and we all know what happened. i've never been so confident about going to OT since 2002 about our chances of winning, and no matter what team Arsene plays, we'll win this one..
luckys_10
I love your overconfidence, i'm sure it will only be matched by a string of nonsense excuses after the game...
Tosswink
let's see how these Arsenal fans like it when they're beaten on saturday. surely they'll slope off under their rock...
Star 3000
very unlikely....... i can see a 2-1 win to the Arsenal comin on saturday
KBGoon
Ahhh, when you lose reminding you of all this baseless confidence will be a source of much amusement for me!
Tosswink
it seems to me that united have the upper hand, because you will be stronger down the wings with Clichy and Sagna missing tomorrow.oh well we will just have to consolidate with the league
fran merida
O come on, i was having fun, if this gets all reasonable I might have to act my age!
Tosswink
3-1 or 3-0 united - easyyy. i would like to see this team start for man utd kuszchak, brown , rio , vidic , evra , ronaldo , hargreaves , carrick, andersson as a left winger, rooney , tevez
rooneyisgod
Why would you risk Tevez/Ronaldo/Rooney all starting? You should beat us really, we'll only have out our 2nd string. . .
AFC85Lew
I hope not, though to be honest I believe Saha will play in the place of Tevez...
Tosswink
me too tosswink, tevez has palyed almost alll out matches this season. my team would be; vds, brown, rio, vida, evra, ronaldo, hargreaves, anderson, park, rooney, saha..........subs: kuszazck, o'shea, carrick, nani, tevez
united4life
i think we need to try anderson on the left. he can run at players at speed hes strong and we no he can tackle back. oh and hecan pass what more do we need?
rooneyisgod
should be a good game, thats all i hope for and may the best team win and that should be the gunners
the arsenal
why swap anderson to the left when on current from he is our best central midfielder. as much as i love scholes, no one i bigger than the team and on current form he is not one of our two best c midfielders (anderson and hargreaves are) as for left wing we are fully equipped with giggs, nani and park; not to mention evra who is a fantastic winger. i hope saf does not pick both schoels and giggs due to curretn form but if e does, surely a fitter giggs deserves a place. am i wrong?
united4life
scholes just needs a bit more tiem to settle into the pace, and i fear he could be left short in the high-tempo match that united arsenal will no doubt cook up.
